It's a snowy afternoon here and everyone is sick but me. What a good day to try something new!
Today's adventure is Kinda Cool Ranch Doritos by the blog macheesmo.com
To my surprise they were pretty good. I had high expectations for these since they are my favorite chip to begin with.
First I had to go to the store and get some ingredients. Every time I go to the store I always buy too much and never get all the stuff that i need. So frustrating when you get home and realize that you forget a main ingredient. (In my case seasoning salt) Luckily we have something called google and I found a recipe for it.
On to actually making the dish.
I am not the best at cooking or baking but I thought this was a pretty easy recipe. (Until I started) I don't have a thermometer so when I was heating up the oil I had no idea how hot it was. I burnt my first 2 batches until I figured out to turn down the heat. (at this point I thought I was doomed)
Once I got the hang of frying the tortillas it was on to seasoning the things. This also was a task in its self. I tried putting them in a bowl and tossing the chips. That was an epic fail a few chips found themselves on the ground. I tried putting them in a bag and shaking them, they just ended up crumbs. (I guess I am just to rough) The easiest way was to get dirty and use my hand and sprinkle the warm chips.
Now the best part!! Eating them!!
The original blogger was right when he said they were
best served warm. Once I got the hang of seasoning the chips right I couldn't stop eating! Not the healthiest of snacks but soo good! They had a bit of spice and were salty. (a bit too much salty for me I know for next time) You definatly needed something to drink when you ate them.
Yummy!!

Well February has come and gone. Boy was it busy! I decided I would be an awesome sister and watch my nieces and nephews for the February break. Little did I know what I was getting myself into.
8 kids and 6 dogs!!!
I wish I had a picture to show you all my craziness. I know there is one out there I just don't have it.
So what do I do with 8 kids ranging from age 1 - 14? Pinterest here I come!!! We made Cloud Dough, Flubber and Snow Paint.
Lets start with the Cloud Dough. Pinterest sent me to Jugglingwithkids.com such a good website if you need to entertain kids!
In our house hold we called it moon sand and everyone loved it. The kids asked to play with it almost everyday. It kept them busy for hours which was a nice break. It is messy though we had it all over the kitchen! The kids were covered, the floor was covered, and the dogs ate it up so they were covered!
All in all I would make it again.
Now on to the Flubber from http://frugalfunchallenge.blogspot.com/
This is such a neat experiment! It literally mixes its self. For the boys they loved the gooey gunk. I made the mistake of coloring it blue so everyone who touched it turned into a smurf. The kids LOVED to turn into smurfs.
This was a good project for the 6-9 year olds. It kept them quiet for at least 10 mins. (when you have 8 kids running around 10 minutes is bliss)

And finally Snow Paint by abirdandabean.com
Now this was the best middle of winter ``go outside and play`` activity. All of them loved making the snow coloured everytime they went out side I had to fill the bottles at least 3 times. I wish I had this when I was little I am pretty sure I would have LOVED it.
So all I can say is Thank You Pinterest!! It filled our days with alot of entertaining fun activities!!
And Thank You siblings for leaving the country and trusting me with your children. I got to bond with 7 out of 10 nieces and nephews over a span of a week. I would do it all over again and Pinterest will be there helping me with more fun activities.
